Congratulations to Killeshandra Reserved team who had a great win in the second round over Shannon Gaels on Saturday. Game ended Killeshandra 1-9(12) Shannon Gaels 0-05(5).

ACFL 2019 Division 3 Rd1
Killeshandra played Redhills in the first round today (Sunday). The game got of to a great start with Shane Reilly(12) opening the score within the first minute of play with a great Goal followed shortly after with a point by Eoin Brady (15). Redhills got their first point thanks to Desmond Gumley(7) it was followed 2 minutes later with their second from a free. Sean Martin (11) taken it. Killeshandra was awarded a free on the 20 meter line 6 minutes in and Shane Reilly (12) stepped up to take it and took a great point. Redhills responded with a Goal which was fisted in by Packie Leddy (14) . Eoin Brady for the Leaguers opened their net with Killeshandra's second Goal of the game. Redhills did dominated the 8 minutes of the game and managed to score 4 points thanks to Greg Duffy(13) Packie Leddy(14) and Sean Martin(11) getting two, one from play and one from a 20m free. A black card was giving to Darragh Tighe(3) which seen Daniel Luby (17) come on and he managed to get the Leaguers last point of the first half. Just before the half time whistle went Redhills had a chance for another Goal but was saved well by Joe Masterson(1) to keep the Leaguers in the lead at half time by a point. The first half was even enough with both sides keeping up the fast pace of the game but both sides missing a lot of chances. Half time score Killeshandra 2-4(10) Redhills 1-6(9). Second half started off with another great save from Joe Masterson(1), Conor McCaffrey(15) trying to get the Goal but they didn't have to wait long as Packie Leddy(14) opened the net for Redhills for their second Goal. Killeshandra got the next two points thanks to Cein Sweeney(14) and Eoin Brady(15). Another point for each team followed from frees Redhills Sean Martin(11) got theirs and Shane Reilly got the Leaguers. Few chances missed by both teams yet again in the second half and a few minutes past before another score but it was the Leaguers who took the advantage and got the next two points Eoin Brady(15) with one and Aaron Brady (9) with the second one. Redhills Packie Leddy(14) received a yellow card 18 minutes into second half followed shortly after by a red card. Killeshandra were ahead by two points but not for long as Redhills managed to get two points to even the game in the 29th minute, Cormac Brides(8) and Sean Martin(11) getting the points. Killeshandra one minute into extra time were awarded a 20m free and Shane Reilly(12) took the shot and got the point from a very wide angle followed shortly by Eoin Brady (15) sealing the win with a great point. Redhills was giving a last shot with a 45m free and Paul Martin(1) stepped up to take it but a great save by Tomas O’ Reilly (8) stop it going anywhere. Referee blew the full time whistle to give Killeshandra the win over Redhills. Full time score Killeshandra 2-11(17) Redhills 2-09(15).

Killinkere conceded U17 match. St. Joseph's top the group A and move through to the semi Final congratulation lads. St.Joseph's will play Kingscourt in the Semi Final on Tuesday the 9th of April at 6.30pm venue TBC.

Social Dancing takes place on Friday the 4th April In Killeshandra Community Hall from 10pm to 12.30am music by Jimmy Hayes €10.
A table Quiz is been held on Friday the 19th of April in Hayes at half 9, spot prizes, €40 a team. All proceeds going towards Festival of the lakes. Please support.
