Loop the lakes charity run/walk

Loop the lakes 2020 – Date: Saturday 5 th September – Location: Virtually.

We’re delighted to announce that the “Loop the Lakes” is coming back for another year to support

SOSAD and Pieta House. Now in our 9th year, we’re changing things up this year due to the current

government guidelines. This year we’ve decided to hold a virtual event to support these two

wonderful charities which have been so badly impacted this year and which greatly need our help.

We hope that this year, even though we can’t be together physically, we can still come together

virtually with our event to be held on Saturday 5 th September.

We want you to “Loop your own Lakes” in order to raise funds to give hope to those who feel they

have none. You can run, skip, hop, cycle or walk the dog/cat/llama/alpaca/tiger (For any Joe Exotics

out there). A lake can include rivers, streams, swallies, peninsulas, potholes, bog holes, outdoor

bathtubs, olympic sized swimming pools… It doesn’t even have to be a lake. Just go for a walk or run any time any distance

in your locality on the 5th and send us your pics with the hastag #loopthelakes

As we are raising money for mental health charities, it is important for all of us for our mental health

to get outdoors and get some exercise.

Maybe bring a flask or a picnic and make a morning of it with the family. Send us your pictures on

the day from your run/walk/cycle and we will post them to the facebook page! There will be a prizes

on the day for the best pictures.

We may not be able to walk together but we can make a stand to raise awareness about mental

health issues and suicide prevention.

A  link to our GoFundMe page is up and running and on all our social media pages. There is no minimum donation, all proceeds, big and

small will go to our chosen charities, SOSAD House and Pieta House.

Please remember to adhere to the government health guidelines.
