Intermediate Championships Quarter Final

All roads lead to Kilnaleck on Sunday when Killeshandra played Cuchulainns in the Quarter Finals. The game started at 14.03 and Cuchulainns were straight of the mark with a point thanks to Killian Lynch followed by second point by Even Doughty. An incident five minutes in seen Thomas O Reilly having to come off for the leaguers to received treatment but was back on within the next five minutes. Cuchulainns managed to get another four points in the opening 20 minutes. The leaguers were trying hard to get by Cuchulainns defence and got a break 23 minutes into the game with a free. A short ball passed from Shane O Reilly to Eoin Brady got the first point for the leaguers. Conor Smith managed to get Cuchulainns seventh point and they looked like they were pulling away with the game until Killeshandra received a penalty 26 minutes into the game and Daniel Luby stepped up to take it and didn't missed it with a great shot at Goal. Cuchulainns did get another two points from Even Doughty and Adam O’Reilly and the Leaguers got a free just before half time and a great point took by Shane O Reilly bought the game to only a three point game going into the second half. Second half started and the leaguers got the first point off it thanks to a free, Daniel Luby took it sending into Shane O Reilly and Shane taking the point. Five minutes into the game Thomas O Reilly was unlucky not to get Killeshandra second point after a great kick of the ball from halfway only for it to hit the post but a minute later Daniel Luby gets the point to put Killeshandra only two points behind. Cuchulainns got their first point of the second half eight minutes in thanks to Even Doughty. Killeshandra were rewarded another free in the eleventh minute and Shane O Reilly took it and got the point. Killeshandra had it down to a one point game but two minutes later Cuchulainns responded  with a point from Even Doughty once again. Conor O Reilly sent a great ball into Thomas O Reilly in the twentieth minute to see Killeshandra get another point. Twenty five minutes gone and yet again Joe Masterson makes a great saved to keep the Leaguers in the game and Daniel Luby gets another point to make it a one point game again. Cuchulainns Adam O’Reilly gets a point and Killeshandra’s Darren O’Hanlon responded with a point to keep it a one point game into injury time but a free to Cuchulainns seen them take a two point lead until substitute Adrian Martin scored the leaguers last point of the game. Eoin Brady took a chance in the last few seconds at a point but it just fell short and the referee blew for full time. It was a great team effort from the lads and nail biting stuff till the end.
